Eyelash Extension Aftercare Instructions

Poor hygiene is the number one lash enemy. Learn how to cleanse, rinse, and care for Xtreme Lashes so your extensions last longer.

If you have ever heard that washing your eyelids shortens the life of your lash extensions, the opposite is true. The real reason extensions shed early is poor hygiene.

Dirt, oil, and makeup can clog follicles and weaken even the best surgical-grade adhesives. Clogged follicles can cause natural lashes to fall out and grow back shorter or finer. Microscopic demodex mites also live along the lash line — daily cleansing keeps them from crowding healthy follicles. Neglected hygiene can even lead to blepharitis, where the lid line swells and crusts.

Cleansing your lashes is as essential as washing your face. Rhondi recommends a dedicated lash cleanser (such as Xtreme Cleanser), microfiber applicators, and a clean luxury brush.

Use your finger, cleansing brush, or micro tip swab to gently massage cleanser into the lashes — especially along the lash line where follicles live. If you reuse a brush, wash and dry it thoroughly every time. A dirty brush only reintroduces debris.

Rinse thoroughly with water to remove cleanser and dislodged debris. Blot — never rub — upper and lower lashes dry with a tissue or paper towel. Lashes also air-dry quickly on their own.

Cleanse daily, or as close to daily as your routine allows. Consistent aftercare keeps natural lashes healthy between fills and creates the clean canvas extensions need for the strongest bond.

Seeing a lash or two in the sink after cleansing is normal. Most people shed one to five natural lashes a day — extensions simply make that cycle more visible.

Whether you wear full Xtreme Lashes or fiber mascara, proper cleansing and grooming are non-negotiable. Healthy lashes last longer. Happy lashes stay put. Practice good aftercare, and your glam will thank you.

Love, Rhondi — your favorite lash stylist.
